*Safety Reminder - Please Check your Hats. A hard hat with a three point linkage harness properly adjusted and fastened at all times whilst mounted. The hat should be marked EN1384., PAS015, ASTM F1163, SNELL E2002, SNZ 3838 1998 or prefixed ASTM or SEI. It should also carry the Kitemark or SEI. Letter from The Chairman

Dear Members What a fantastic year 2009 has been for Nantwich Riding Club, those of you who attended the A.G.M. will have seen and heard how successful we were at Area and National level.

I would like to welcome all our new members to the Club, myself and the committee members are here to represent you, so please do not hesitate to speak to any of us with your questions and concerns. If you wish to participate in any team competitions always contact the appropriate team manager.

You should also remember that if you wish to represent the Club at Area or National level you need to attend 8 competitions within the Club during that year in the correct discipline. for the competition. (eg HorseTrials Dresage, Showjumping, Cross Country & Eventers Challenge)

You may also be required to provide a helper on some occasions as required by Area or BRC, this is a condition of entry, failure to do so could mean elimination for the whole team, yourself and even the Club. Please do not say to your Team Manager – I can only help for 2 hours. I can’t get there until 12 o’clock when it’s an 8.30am start, My horse will be standing on the box all day or my child is riding – If you want to compete a helper is a pre requisite of your entry if required by the Club. – the ‘helper’ can be any family member or friend !

As always our Schedules will include a variety of training rallies throughout the coming year for all beginners, novice, competitors or not, please remember that training is about how to do things right with your horse or pony, in show jumping for example – walking and riding a course, presenting your horse correctly to a fence, riding related distances, it’s NOT just about the height of the fence or who else is with you in the lesson, it’s about you and your horse/pony learning together.

GENERAL INFORMATION:

British Riding Club have changed the rules regarding Competitor Age Groups as follows:

1. All Riders in Senior Competitions must be 18 years or over on the 1st January in

the current year.

2. All Riders in Junior Competitions must be under 18 years on the 1st January in

the current year.

Any Juniors who qualify for the Winter competitions (Novice indoor Show Jumping & FOH) in the year prior to the championships (i.e. Qualifiers held in the Autumn of 2008 for the 2009 Championships) must compete as Juniors at the Championships.

To be eligible to participate in a team, horses must have Zero BD points for the Preliminary tests, and less than 124 BD points for Novice tests. Down grading of horses is allowed if they are no longer registered with BD. Riders who have competed in a CDI or CDIO under FEI rules in the previous 5 years are NOT ELIGIBLE to compete.
