JUNIOR MEMBERS FLY THE FLAG at PONY CLUB:
Number 13 Unlucky for Some.
Many Junior Members of our Club represent various Branches of Pony Club.
On Saturday 6th February it
was Area 5 of the Pony Club Dengie Qualifier at Southview. Heather Twist and Sox representing Cheshire Hunt South, and Harriet
Tollafield & Oddie representing Crewe & Didtrict There were 35 entries several of which were from NRC. After the 'first'
round there were only 14 clears of which Heather & Sox, Harriet & Oddie were in the Jump Off. The Judge when announcing
the order of jumping gave Heather & Sox Number 13. When it came time for her round there was only one double clear with
with one more competitor to jump. A steady clear round was all Sox needed to qualify. Sox is obviously unaware of our 'human'
superstitions, he stormed round going double clear winning the class. Unfortunately Harriet & Oddie clipped a pole and
finished 5th on 4 faults, just outside the qualifying places on time for the Area Finals.
In Class 3 (2'9") once again we were represented by several members of NRC. Out of
47 entries Emma Holman & Freckles came a very credible individual 5th place with a'double clear' round.
In the Open Beth Austin riding Silver took second place with a
'double clear'
Well done to Heather, Harriet, Beth & Emma-Team Captains take note!
